Other Extreme Mountain Riding

I live in CO, home to many high altitude lakes. Naturally my friend and I got into discussing the possibility of hauling a ski up a 4 wheel drive trail and dropping it in a high mountain lake (by high mountain i mean above treeline). I think it would be insane! Have any of you done this or seen it done?

I am guessing the water will be close to freezing...might need to restrict cooling a little with a hoseclamp/ziptie. Your ski will run great in the cold air, but be careful on WOT runs.

It'd be fun, but definitely have to do stuff everybody mentioned. Highest I have rode is 6,000' and it's amazing how much less HP there is at higher elevations. But... The opportunity to ride some high mountain water is still pretty cool.

I wouldn't do it for a variety of reasons.
Most of all, a pristine high alpine lake is no place for a motorized vessel, especially a 2-stroke.

ha ha well if i do it next summer i'll post a vid. Doubt we will, i was mainly curious if anyone else had. I'd love to see some footage. it would sure make for some cool pics
