Enzo's new XFT hull.

Just picked up my new XFT hull. This is the 'surf' version and weights 78 pounds. I ordered it with an SXR style hull bottom. SJ style top. The hull has the concave area in front of the pump like the SXR, built in sponsons, Deeper stakes ect. But still uses the SJ pump and intake grate. They built me a cool front foothold that goes all the way across the front of the tray and is about 4.5 inches deep. Hull came with the 'mini' fuel tank but I will probably swap it out for the stock tank. Going to put a 760 in it from my other boat until my stoker motor is ready from Magoos. This rig will be in the surf by tuesday!

Hope I like it as much as my tubbied SJ in the surf. Had a good ride today!

Sweet, that hull looks fun!

Can you snap some pictures of the bottom? What holds those zip ties around the hood seal?

I will try to get some good pics of the bottom. However since the bottom is black it's kind of hard to to tell the shape in pictures.

Those cable ties are attached with aluminium rivets. I know that has been a week area on non re-enforced SJ's but that area is very beefy on this hull. You can't flex the sides at all.

Well rode the ski at the lake today. First impression was- Wow, my motor had way more punch and jumping the ski was way easier. However the handling is not good. I guess the SXR bottom was designed for a 350 pound ski not one the weights at least 100 pounds less and is definatly nose light. I new when I ordered the ski that this would be a possibility. I thought that it could also be the coolest surf ski made. But at this point it is not! I will try some different ride plates and maybe even some tubbies. Problem is it feels like you really need to lean it to turn but when you do it just keeps going over until splash. Kinda feels like a 750 sx in this respect.

I am very happy with the build quality of the ski..But the SXR bottom is not the hot setup I thought it would be. Not yet... :frown:

The good news is my 4 pound battery worked great! Yuasa Part#YTZ7S. Check out the pic.

That's a beautiful ski. Looks like nice craftsmanship too.
Try a longer rideplate will help keep the nose down better.
