Dumb Question of the Century

Sure, no problem. The pole ends up way down in the channel through the hood, so it makes it uncomfortable for hood tricks, but it works fine. You'll find a lot of Xmetal fans here, and I'm one of them.

Just put a blowsion bracket on my ski, works awesome, probably the best lowered bracket I have seen in person.

im sportin the XFT backet w/ stock hood and nose. its nice and you can still use a blowsion spring (got to cut sum of the spring) also can be used with 2 bolts

I just bought a lowered Blowsion mount too. I'm rethinking it now though. I'd rather the clean look of the hood. Anyone interested in the mount? Trade for a full height one?

Anyone got any pics to help make the decision?

If you're spending money on lowered brackets for cosmetic reasons, then you're wasting your money. The purpose of a lowered bracket is to make a huge improvement in rideability, improving your ability to complete many freestyle moves, most particularly the barrel roll. If you're going down that road, there's also a freestyle hood in your future (as well as a new pole) so don't worry about the temporary ugly look.

I just stuck on a -1 AC pole. I bought the bracket for two reasons, strength and lowered pivot point. I decided to put the pole on today without the bracket. I'll hold off on the bracket until winter or a lowered hood falls into my lap.

Cool, but I wouldn't wait for the hood to put the bracket on. You won't believe how much difference the lowered bracket will make to your ski.

It will work fine. The only one I can think of that will be a slight problem is the Chris Maros 24-7 bracket. This bracket is -1" lower and -1" forward. With the factory nose piece it will hit when the pole is fully extended. This can be remedied with a pole limiting strap.

wouldnt -1 forward actually be 1 inch back(i.e towards the tray)? dont you know it takes a double negative to be positive?
