So stock 38s can be bored to 44s?

I may have to set up dual pulse now too! I never really considered it but it does make sence.

I talked to Paul about that same thing, he said it would be ok but to really open it up I needed 44,s. Then I lucked out on a set on e bay for 150 bucks so I dont need to use my spare set of 38,s. Do you need a set of 38,s cheep?

And Matt E may have an intake.

This sounded to me like he was about to tweak a spare set of 38s until he found a good deal on 44s. I am an idiot when it comes to carbs:banghead:

The OEM 38's don't need dual pulse lines since one is a 'slave' carb that runs off the other one's fuel pump.

So there is no need for dual pulse with stock 38s? The slave carb must always remain a slave?

I guess you could make them dual pulses, but it would still be a 38mm carb, so I don't know why you would want to do that. I don't think the pulse would give much of any performance gain.
If it ain't broke, usually I dont **** with it. :headbang:

OK Guys, I was joking........

guess it an old joke...........

You know I was thinking that you must have mended with John to say that.

However I have had nothing but great work come from John. I remember that carb dilemma issue but that is under the bridge.

Does anyone want to go into the procedure of drilling and tapping a second pulse line? I'm sure this is basic, and I could look on my own engine and work it out, but I'm here at work...bored!

First of all you need to get the right fitting.... 1/4" I believe is correct. Then you need to drill the hole slightly smaller than the od of the fitting. like a 1/32" smaller or so. After that put the fitting in the freezer for a couple hrs and heat up the cases around the hole you drilled w/ a torch, make sure you heat that baby up good.. The fitting should slide right in the hole pretty easily. When the metal reaches ambient temp they shold be tight as hell and secure... Make sure you drill then hole steady and straight.. just mirror it over from the other side to find the correct position to drill....

You could tap it too, I guess
