Dry Pipe Repairable???

Does anyone think this is repairable? It looks like someone actually cut this piece out. Is it supposed to be that way? It just blew out a new coupler in a one hour ride. If it is repairable, do you think it is worth the effort?

a good weld shop could cut out and weld in a new section for ya, shop around and you could probably get a ok deal

that section missing is what caused the new coupler to blow
it is prob broken due to mis-alighnment
