drive coupler difference at 92, not 93???????

The blowsion kawasaki style couplers say they won't fit on all 91's and some 92's, but I was under the impression the short shaft on the 91-93's were one style, and 95-07 (possibly present) were another style, but the coupler themselves have always stayed the same. So whats the deal??? What is the difference between 91's and some 92's and 93-present.

The threads. I think the 650's (motor side) and the <=95's (midshaft side) have 6R7 stamped on them and the 701 motors and the 96+ midshafts have 6M6. Something like that.
