Other Double Damage

Seat bounced the second double and went high and far (too high, too far) way overshot the landing ramp, foot slipped off peg on impact, peg landed on foot. Should have better pics / x-rays next Tuesday when I get the perm cast.

BK, it happened Sun. 3 pm at the Madison Motoplex. By 8 pm Talla. Regional Mem decided emergency surgery was necessary and called surgical staff in from home. Started the operation at 10 was done by 12 or so. It's in a splint till the stitches come out (Tuesday) and I get the cast.
It was a long agonizing experience.

Thanks for the sympathy guys. The good news is the bike suffered no damage and in 12 weeks I'l be able to put weight on my foot. Then after a few weeks of PT I should be able to ride again providing it all heals correctly.
I can hardly wait to get back there and ride.

Right now I just wish I could put weight on it BK. Unfortunately there will be no bike or ski in my future for 12 + weeks. Sucks to be in a wheelchair right? To make it worse, wife unit has to get up early to give subcutaneous shots in the stomach to aid with circulation each morn for 21 days. I feel like a pin cushion.

That sucks. I know how you feel. In '05 I landed long and broke my ankle. My foot never came off the peg though. Just a hard landing. I also had to have surgery to install a plate and screws and then a second surgery to remove a screw that was too long (doctor was a dumbass). I spent 2 months on crutches. It was the worst 2 months of my 43 years. I thought about giving up the bike while sitting in the emergency room but while I was healing I watched some motocross on tv and I couldn't wait to get back on the bike. Good luck in your recovery

The only reason she would have to get up is if your too big of a sissie to give them to yourself. I had to give myslef a sub-cu shot everyday for a month. Not that bad. I used to gross people out every chance I had.:ugh2:

Sorry to hear about your injury. It sucks when you blow out one of your wheels.

haha the name of this post makes me laugh, i went to school with this kid that at one point stopped breathing for like 8 minutes and brain damage occurs after 4. hence we called him double damage.

Dr. saw me Tues., reviewed my x-rays, and said I was as healed as I will ever be. Told me I could begin to put weight on it and in 4 weeks I could return to work. After extensive negotiations we agreed that I will return to work next Monday!
I got my first trail ride on the Honda this a.m. Only an hour +, but it was GREAT! Of course my ankle is sore now, but I CAN RIDE!!!
Praise GOD!
