Not rushing it will be the hardest part for me, and I'm not just talking about riding skis.
Eh, my wife keeps me in check.
Going to get an appointment at a sports clinic today.

Sorry to hear that happened. Just when you were getting comfortable with the new ski. Hopefully you will be back in shape for the Grayland open in just under 2 months.

I just saw an actual sports doctor who I had seen before and is aware of my jetski affliction. He said it's difficult to diagnose 100% so soon after the injury. But based on his exam, he thinks I stretched/micro-tore my LCL. He said to take it very easy (do nothing) for six weeks. If things don't improve in 3-4 weeks, get an MRI.
Pain meds and rest for now.

And I ordered replacement trim parts. Huge shoutout and thanks to Brian at Thrust Innovations for hooking me up superbly.
Thanks Brian.

Sorry to hear Matt, you're living one of my worst fears.

So who's gonna gain more weight in the next 6 weeks, you or Zap, (Matt's Golden retriever)?

typical doctor response , get and MRI done now if torn get it fixed if not start on the exercise bike and in the gym . wastes 3-4 week to then find out its torn ?? screw that you could have had it fixed and be 2/3 rds back to being recovered

i hate doctors , sit of the sofa and take pain meeds , he need to go to uni to come up with that ? sorry the guy is an idiot

book yourself in for a MRI tomorrow

Unfortunately, with our fabulous health care system, I'm kind of glad he's waiting with the MRI. (x-ray did come back clear) It would cost me about 2k out of pocket. I trust the doctor, I've seen him before and he did well for me in the past.
As for the pain meds, I asked for it because I couldn't sleep because of pain last night.

Good doctors are very hard to find these days.

My wife works in the billing dept of an ear, nose and throat clinic with 14 doctors. They are all internally rated by how many patients they see versus surgery refferals as surgery brings in more money than straight visits. The one doctor with the lowest rating, (3yr average of 63% refferal), was looking at new houses last year and found one that was $100k out of his budget and his refferal rate went into the 90% range over night. It's no wonder we don't trust them.

Feels quite a bit better this morning. Not nearly as stiff and my range of motion is better.

don't for get you need to go to school longer to become a vet than you do to become a doctor , so get down to your local vet clinic and least you will be talking to someone with a better education :-}}}

Heal fast. Don't push it and make it worse. Give your body what it needs to do it. (eat good stuff).

A lot of docs charge a lot of money for the very same logic. lol.

Get well,

im not well educated but i do think docs can be very nagative in there responce to things . i have had knee op's broken bones plated and a few other things generally its dont move and take drugs as recovery advice . ive always felt if you dont use it you lose it ! i dont mean if you have a bad knee start running marathons but if you dont get that thing moving its going to get weak , heal up real tight and probably go ping again when you finally start to use it properly . i always tried to move as much as possible up until it was a little uncomfortable but not until it plain hurts .
as for the contant referals i have noticed this with my private healthcare .after i broke my hand it was plated then all healed up but after months he still wanted me to come back for more check ups ! easy$$$$$$$$$$$
but dont listen to me and good luck with recovery you sound fit and healthy im sure you will bounce back fast

That's pretty much the reason that I went to see a sports doctor about this. Too many docs will indeed just write you 15 prescriptions and tell you to do nothing. I thought that was exclusive to American doctors.
