Does battery matter?

I have a brand new GS GT16L-BS battery I would like to use in my SX-R, but the application chart calls for a
GTX20L-BS. Not sure what the difference is? Think it makes a difference??

The application chart goes by size and cca (cold cranking amp).
Get a 12V battery that physically fits and turns the ski over continuously for a few minutes before dying.

Ive got an "autozone" battery that was about $30, and slightly smaller than stock but fits, and works fine...

it doesnt want to spin the engine over for half an hour to dry it out if you sink it... but it starts and runs the ski just fine if you DONT sink it.

seriously, if you want cheap, get a local motorcycle, sports type battery that physically fits the battery box and ride it.

i just had to replace my o3 battery ...5 years not to bad
i went with oem battery @ 72$

Mine is an '03 also, I have had the original battery on a battery tender for several months, not sure if it is still good or not. Picked up the GS for free, thought I might give it a try before the original leaves me stranded!

In the surf ,batteries aren't one thing I'm willing to go cheap on .
Nothing but the best for me and that means a Jetworks .These things just keep on cranking and cranking and will run dual bilges all day and you still will not have to charge it .

If your just cruising around a lake and can swim back than get the walmart battery .:banghead:
