Do you need a special Solas Impeller tool to install a solas impeller???

Yes, they have a finger type tool that slides in from the front after pulling off the rubber nose cone.

Is it the same as a standard stock impeller tool???

Does the tool usually come with a brand new impeller...and the seal?

It is not the same as a stock type,usually on a stock impellor you just use a big wrench to loosen the impeller and a spline tool to hold the shaft.On a Solas the impellor has kind of a square cut in it that the Solas tool fits into or several slots that it fits into,you will also need the spline tool to hold the shaft.A new Solas impeller usually comes with the impeller installation too but not a spline tool.

I think he asked if you need the tool to put the prop ON, which you dont need the tool. The motor will tighten it, i just spin it on hand tight. On the other hand you need the tool to get it OFF.

With my impeller I had to buy a special tool (with splines) to fit down inside the impeller then I put the other side of the pump in a vice and loosened it that way.
