Do these plugs look too lean?

I'm near the completion of the break-in process of my superjet and have been pulling the plugs on occasion to inspect. I am about half way through my 2nd tank of 25:1. I was running all out in some heavy chop for about a minute and then idled in (about 30 sec.), pulled plugs and they look lean to me. There was no plug chops being done, just removed and checked for piece of mind.

They time before they were much darker although I had idled through a no wake zone for a good 2 minutes and blew the residual water out of the water box before checking the plugs. One thing I have done since then was to install new case bolts without breaking base gasket seal, and remove one of the screens in the stock F/A. This ski is an all stock '08 SJ-

Let me know what you all think...

Personally, I would put the screens back in until you can pull the tamper caps off the carbs and install T handles. The stock settings are set up a bit lean for emmissions reasons.

I think it's going to be pretty tough to accurately read plugs if you're running 25:1; if the boat is all stock, prob wouldn't worry about it.

True, about the carbs. I will be getting a limited pipe in a few weeks, and will install the head at that time. I figured I will wait to pluck the tamper caps when I do the pipe/ head. I just got anxious and put in some of my girdle harware, I found that the longer rear studs will not accept a socket so I had to ghetto tourque those two. I think they are fine but that is what I am most worried about. I never replaced the base gasket and am afraid I will develop an air leak. What the deal with torque specs? Riva instructions say 25ft/lbs my Clymers manual says 23 ft/lbs and this PDF manual I got from here says 29ft/lbs

Riva - 25-ft/lbs
Clymers - 23-ft/lbs
Shop Manual - 29-ft/lbs

Those #'s are all over the shop. I would think to torque a tad higher than the factory, to make up for the gasket compression since it is not a new one.

The girls in Kawi800's avatar look a little lean.
Can we get a full size photo to confirm?
Thanks!

Full Size photos are available in the "For Sale" section I believe. The Riva instuctions are pretty lame, though the setup is pretty self exlanatory does 25ft/lbs sound right? With the ADA kit, everytime you remove the head you are releasing the tension on the clyinder as well right? I assume you do not pull your cylinder and replace the gasket each time the head is pulled, does it mantain the seal?

Thanks again for the support.

Right with the ada you do not remove the jug every time. You just have to make sure the jug does not move, and break the gasket seal.
