Do jet ski sales decrease closer to summer?

I seem to be an a huge hurry to buy a superjet, but im not too sure why. I still have school for another month and a couple weeks so its not like i can just go ride whenever. But i have found a couple RNs that i like. As nice as some of the RNs are, i think i would be better off with a nicely modded square and saving for a lighter hull next season. So my question is, should i buy one of the RNs ive seen, or keep my 550 and search for another superjet untill summer is here? Id hate to pass up one of the nice RNs jsut because i want to save money, then be stuck with my 550 all summer, but id also hate to buy an RN then find a nice square or cheaper rn around here.

IME, no.

The number of sales generally increase between February and June.

Atleast in this area.

IMO: stick to the 550 until you got plenty of throwing around money. I think buying a modded RN will be cheaper in the long run.

I would go with the rn and forget about the light weight hull.....buy some footholds, pipe, head and a few mods and you'll be set up pretty good.

Put that 550 to good use and train some hot chicks to do it standing up! I'll take either or but I'd rather watch the ladies rip it up on a stand up:woot: than float around on a couch.

This is the RN im looking at. Its 4 hours one way from me, but im hoping he will take my 3000 offer, if not its 3500

got a buddy looking to sell his 97 for $3500

located in central Alabama about 3 hrs from you

Here's the other pics and a run down of parts.

-Greater head (170psi), Coffman pipe, V-force reeds

-Water Dawg Diablo Hood and nose piece, hood hooks, hood latch, lowered pole bracket

-Foot holds with fresh turf

-Blowsion fuel cap, kick plate, bypass fittings, bow & stern bushings, bilge fitting, bilge pump bracket, carbon fiber chin pad, handle bar mounted bilge switch

-UMI bars and throttle lever

-Primer kit

-New stator, starter and bendix

But this just popped up in georgia
1994 yamaha superjet with trailer and all gear
$1500

Ski is in good shape has footholds and new mats.It has a/c raceing handle pole, riva intake grate, pro tec ride plate, scupper valve, primer kit,new battary,500gallon ph blige pump, new handle bar grips, life jacket,wetsuit,drysuit,6gallongascan, double trailer,call678-549-8106

If he would take 1k without the trailer and gear would that be a better idea? The ski isnt nearly as clean or powered as the RN but if he would take 1k, i would have plenty left to spend.

one more question. The guy on craiglist with the square says "the only thing wong the low end jet is 1 size to big so the carb runs to fat on the low side.i just put M.S.D.ingiton last year. so the ski is ready for the lake"

Whats he mean? And is it an easy fix? The nose piece is also missing but he says the point is in good shape and the pole can polish up nicely. The turf looks fairly new aswell.
From the pics it looks like an ok ski, but it doesnt seem to be in really good condition. Should i just wait for a RN?

Life is short, buy the RN.

That looks like what ill be doing anyways.

Seems like a good deal, just gotta find the time to get it. Full time school + close to part time hours at work = trouble finding free time with short notice.

What he means is: "I have no idea what I'm doing but the ski runs like crap on the bottom end and a buddy of a buddy of a mechanic said the jetting was off. However, I have no confidence that the jet is the problem or I would've spent $3 on one and said it runs perfect."

In reality, it could be low on compression, carb need rebuilt, the engine has air leaks, the prop and/or pump are gouged to heck and cavitate, etc. I believe you're going about this the right way in getting a SN first and going bigger next season but I'd steer clear of that SN. Sounds like an old dog that was never maintained very well.

Most people don't sell ski's this time of year because they held on to it all winter so they might as well get one more season out of it. However, this is the prime time to buy so it is going to be a bit harder to find one.

The warmer it gets, the more your going to pay! Just buy that RN's, you can't go wrong with that ski. Its going to be worth 3K until Yamaha comes out with a Matrix! LOL

Buy it, ride it & get good, then find a light hull. Just my .02 cents.
