difference between the thrust trims?

what is the difference between the thrust ez trim, and the ez flow pro trim? almost ready to purchase the trim for my ski and not really sure if its worth paying the extra $450 or just buying the original for $300? also looking at the xscream trim so might as well throw that into the comparison. Thanks in advance for any help provided.

The ez flow pro comes with nozzles. Very nice nozzles. It's plug and play. It doesn't offer a ton of throw however it is the easiest to pull by far due to the pulley.

What are you doing with the footrocket? 50% of the people on here will tell you to go xmetal for flatwater. I have thrust and I love it.

I ride more flat water than I do surf but I do occasionally ride surf when ever I can find the time to make the drive to it, so I would say 60% flat water the rest surf, why would majority of the flat water guys side with xmetal over thrust? just curious?

how does your trim kit compare to the previously listed? you link provides information on what the kit comes with but not much more than that, but it does look nice and I am interested depending on how well it performs, do you know about how many degrees of throw it has, considering other brands have that actually listed as a numerical value? and how does the nozzle compare to the ones thrust use? per the other guy giving the thrust nozzle mad props, also does your kit require a different reduction nozzle or will the stock one work

Xmetal has more throw. All the other systems are straight pull. you have to be careful what system you get because Krash pump cavity has a low ceiling so I know rrp top pull system will not work.

whats your opinion on the 701 industries one? from the looks of it looks like a good deal, also with trim systems you have to get a different reduction nozzle correct or do they use the stock one? this will be my first time messing with trims completely so im kinda clueless on them

Yeah you have to get a new reduction nozzle unless you have a 62t one already. The only one I know of to use a 61x is the posidon one. You can find it under new product releases

with the trim what would you say is more important, ease of pull or throw? also is fraying and the cable dislodging from the wheel really that big of a issue with the thrust set ups?

Ive have the thrust original trim on my surf boat, great trim never had issue at all. Bought the new thrust pro trim but never hit the water with it, was having the ski setup and changed to the xmetal as it was there.

There is very little throw on the thrust Pro trim but like wise there is very little on the RRP. Less trim means more height on your flips but at the same time you will need a better technique. Lots of trim will make you rotate a lot faster so better if your learning I think. You always have the option to back the xmetal off, where you cant increase the thrust/rrp with out taking a grinder to it.

Have the X-metal on flat water ski. If you do the b pipe coupler mod to act as a flow guard then it beats the thrust by a mile. Steering is so sharp I had to back it off a bit as it made the ski turn way to quick. Makes big spins almost effortless compared to the standard thrust trim.

If I had the choice again I would go X-metal for sure.

im just now putting my foot in the door when it comes to flat water, prior to this ski I had a bone stock sn superjet, so with that since the xmetal has more throw it would most likely be better when it comes to learning flips as well as spins ect correct?

There is no need to change the exit nozzle . Kits will suit either pre 08 61x or 08 plus 62T . As for the numbers, how does 40 degrees of trim sound. ? The nozzle is made from Urethane and can take a beating.
I also have kits for the 155mm exit nozzles aswell now.

Does this trim fit easily on a footrocket, I've been told the rrp won't fit and want to make sure I don't run into that issue

I think the main difference is tighter tolerances that act as a "flow guard" of sorts on the newer Thrust system compared to the original.

With out the coupler mod the X metal trim is gash. Put the coupler on and its night and day difference, was amazed how good tbh. Makes big spins effortless, and has more than enough trim. I've got mine backed off a bit now.

Personally id only run the xmetal now as its been flawless and works perfect.
