My brother when he was 40 rode in the Leadville 100 "race across the sky".
You can count me out.But he said it was amazing to see what your made of.He finished in just under 11 hours.Get ready for next year.
EVENT DETAILS
At 10,000+ feet, against the misty backdrop of a former mining town, Leadville, Colorado, 1400 cyclists line the starting line. For many, it will be the most difficult race of their lives. For some, a bragging right to say they raced alongside the best in the world. Some imagine victory. Most hope only to finish. But everyone will count.

The race that started 25 years ago as a running race to drive tourism in Leadville has now grown to a lottery cap of 1000+ competitors, many of them the world’s most elite cyclists. But the Leadville Trail 100 "Race Across the Sky" Mountain Bike Race is not just a race of man against man: it’s man vs. man, man vs. self, man vs. elements, man vs. time. A clock set for 12 grueling hour’s slugs through 100 miles, over 14,000 vertical feet of climbing, some two miles above sea level, through extreme climate changes ranging from heat to hail, from rain to snow. To the racers, the risks of injury, fatigue and mechanical failure pale next to the chance that they will fall behind the 12 hour cut off mark and be eliminated.

That's actually a very interesting discussion, but us mountain bikers are not remotely close to road bikers in the prostate agitation category. Especially us full suspension riders. I have never had any issues with prostitatis. I ride all the time with a padded chamois inner short, and I use a nicely ergonomic WTB seat. All it takes is proper adjustment and riding gear to avoid any issues.
The article is wrong in the sense it instructs you to point your seat down in the front below "level". This causes you to place much more pressure on your upper back and elbows due to the canted forward seat angle- not comfortable at all. Additionally, it also still causes you to sit more forward on the seat, still aggravating that area. Bad advice.
All bike seats should be as close as parallel to the ground, and should be well designed to avoid discomfort.
Mtn. bikers are on their seats less than road bikers, who will log 50 miles at least on a good ride, with solid pedaling the whole time and a hardtail suspension. MT bikers ride less on an average trail ride, are not pedaling the entire time, average slower speeds, and us FS riders are on a plush suspension that takes the agony out of the rocks and ruts.
I agree there may be a connection to a certain degree...is it any coincidence that Lance Armstrong had testicular cancer? Quite possibly...

Not on mine. I ran it for 1.5 hours yesterday with no problems, and I have it logging every second.

mine stops working after 3-4 minutes. I think it's a bug on the sprint 8330. I saw someone else complain about it. the supposed fix doesn't work for me.

anyone ever try trekbuddy or any other logging software?

Argh, went to Waverly Park for the first time tonight. I found out Domino's doesn't deliver oxygen, they should.

I gotta get in shape.

The good news is we started a new weekly ride at Waverly on Wednesday nights at 6.
