Other Debris in the pump

Location

Went out for a ride, corner of my eye I saw something in the water...whatever. 20 seconds later the ski loses power and sounds like i just blew the motor or lost the rings. get towed in. ski looks ok on the inside , starts ok but with a little throttle starts to loose power again. parked it for the day. at the house checked the compresion...good. shaft is spinnig freely, so is impeller. But pass the impeller found a 2 inch wood stick about 3/4 inches thick, chopped on one side, just laying at the bottom of the pump. Did I run over piece of a bigger stick that just got chopped up along the way? should i double check anything else? Has this happen to anyone?

all the time, make sure prop isnt bent or cavitating now as you can wear out pump brgs and cavitation can send foamy cooling water to motor and overheat. FYI

It will just spin and the ski won't really take off. you can leave it on the trailer in the water and under light throttle the water will be real bubbly behind the pump.
