I blame myself for being sucked into the allure of your clamps. The polished and purposeful look they bring to an engine is wonderful.

That being said, you need to put a disclaimer on your bag of clamps that reads:

Use the pinch tool that you installed them with, to remove them. Pinch the "ear" 90* to the pinch point, and twist back & forth until it breaks.

Oetiker makes the BEST coupler ends for shop air hoses. The 1/4" FIP coupler end is about $16.00, and 100X better than the standard style, that leak air after about a week (with no replaceable gasket/seal).

I was going to use them everywhere on my new build but even if you have to remove something one or twice a year it makes it just that much more difficult and expensive so I'm only doing the few hard points that don't need to come apart like in my fuel tank on my clunks and the "T" in my water lines.

Yeah, but by then the hose has bonded itself to the fitting so it's all good :ugh2:

I used those clamps the first time I put in new waterlines. Never again! For the same reason.

Good ole hose clamps are way too expensive for cheap ass OEMs. A lot of hose clamps will unscrew under engine vibration. Hard to beat a big nylon zip-tie.

Nylon zip ties will come loose also and are the cause for the destruction of many a Yamaha couch motor when the oil line pops off, the Oetiker clamps simply will not come loose, working on Seadoos I have been dealing with them for years, I use them everywhere except on the fuel lines , there I use stainless steel worm drive clamps.BTW a regular $10.00 pair of end nippers can be easily modified to put on and remove the one time usage clamps, I have the special tool for the reusable type, its just a pair of CV clamp pliers available from most car places.

Just take a cutting disc on a dremel or a death wheel on an arbor and cut a notch in it, doesn't require a pic really.

I have a small klein flat blade driver that I filed down to fit pilot jets that slides into the crimped tab perfectly. Wiggle it side to side and it loosens the crimps up enough to slide them off and reuse them.
