It just in the works right now it all depends on my buddies $$ situation and us getting the skis done but we are planning a Trip to the Daytona area March 2-11, sometime in between those dates. It'll prob be 4 of us all taking our SJ's and maybe a blaster as a backup. My grandparents live in Ormand beach so I know the area alright, we may stay there a few nights and get a place on the beach a few. Heres what we NEED:

Rough info on launching spots, places to ride, do's and dont's, etc.

WHO wants to ride with us? Probably be a lot easier if we can hook up with ya locals and ditch the touristy BS of where to go.

What to bring as far as riding that engine killing, eye burning, shark infested water you ride? Ski setup, extra tools parts that salt doesnt care about killing.

Is anyone up for meeting up along the way for the trip or just to stop and chill?

Hope this works out should be a blast.

I used to live in ormond beach....now I live in st. aug which is about 45 mins north of there.....

30 mins to the "secret spot"
30 mins to the daytona zone
40 mins to vilano beach (st. aug crew home turf)
45 mins to ponce inlet

flatwater:
highbridge launch is the best...very quiet, no people and no cops

hit us up when it gets closer......slutty is always down with zone riding......and it doesnt take much arm twisting to get the crew to roll out to the secret spot (actually, butti, slutty, paul lehr, terrible ted..should all be ridng the spot as I type this)

as far as tools and parts...well, I like to have my own tools when Im out of town...parts, cant go wrong with a spare nozzle or 2, spare components for an ebox...

put it this way....if I was driving almost 2k miles like you are....i'd be pretty pissed if I blew an O-riing in my head and have 20 of them sitting on the bench....

dont worry about sharks...although we did see a manatee and an azzload of dolphins on thanksgiving morning!

maybe a vid cam with waterproof housing.........that time of year the surf should be just right

Is ponce pretty even surf, dont know the real term for that, but it being an inltet does it get alot of waves from all over the place. I really wanna ride just mellow rollers and breaks not too high, but dont we all. Only thing im a lil worried about is that im building a new engine and doing more hull mods, the engine has been ran before so it doesnt need a whole break in but i may have to break some ice and tune this baby in first.

well, its gonig to be either an inlet or a beach break....honestly, ,inlets are easier becuse you dont have to worry about shore pound...

now, if the surf is monstrous and choppy then its different......or, if the waves are small the its a different story too......

just make sure she runs reliably.....if you need help with a simple tune not a problem, there's a bunch of guys around that can help.....

as far as conditions...well, you see when you get to the beach!

for local, st. augustine surf conditions

Sounds like a good time. I was going to try and get down there spring break but couldnt find anyone to go with.
I bagged that idea now since my ski isnt reliable at all, or even running right for that matter. Instead Im just going down for two weeks do so some fishing.
