oh yeah - I've dealt with him before. His ebay name used to be harry-n-sally or something like that.

he's got someone at ebay convinced that his keyword list is relevent to the shat he's selling.

see the list of keywords that JETT posted above? he puts that list in EVERY auction he runs. He shrinks them down to about a size 4 font and then makes the text white so it can't be seen.

so - for example...if you searched by title and description for "blowsion" you would up with a list of crap he is selling - and not a damm bit of it is Blowsion or anything even remotely resembling a Blowsion product: http://tinyurl.com/32zogv

it's done to direct more traffic to your listings - and the way he does it is a blatant violation of ebay rules.

Along with being sick of seeing his repainted 440 parts in every search, I bought from that crook once and will NEVER again. Big mistake.

Right under We Appreciate Your Understanding.

Click and hold and select that text then keep moving downward, you'll see a tiny line selected. That is the text. If you're in Firefox, hit CTRL + to increase the font size.

I bought one of those "Jet Race Engineering" Keihin external pop off adjustable fuel pump covers from him once. It was nice and it was a decent deal.

I do remember the Harry - n -Sally days though. He was always selling pretty much junk and a bunch of people were PO'd at the parts on PWCT. At least now he wised up and started cleaning/repainting the high dollar parts. He will always sand blast and repaint West Coast pipes so they look new. I have seen new West Coast flyers or instructions with them. He is obviously reprinting them. I give him credit for taking the extra effort. But when I see an anodized Mariner waterbox, I know it isn't new but rather reconditioned.

As for those JRE parts, he must either work at a machine shop with CNC equipment or have a friend/family member who does.

I do hate is auctions too from time to time. I just never look at his stuff because I know who it is and what he is selling.

Looks like I better start Keyword Spaming my auctions too. I think he missed a few, I will add them to mine.:nutkick:

I just search the titles only. I found if I did titles and descriptions, I had the same problem you did.

I use Keywords too in my auctions but they are usually directly related to my auction. I would never put Blowsion in my auction description when I am selling a stock 650 SX throttle cable!

I emailed him. Here was his reply:

Hi there;

Thanks for taking the time to write.
We talk to guys all the time about this, who don't actually know what specific rules eBay has on the subject.
Here is an email we received from eBay a while back, when we wrote to them to ask about this exact topic:

Hello fresh_watercraft,

Thank you for taking the time to write eBay with your concerns. I'm happy to help you further.
Our Search Manipulation policy states, in part:

Excessive use of key words, including (but not limited to) brand names, which are referenced for the purpose of attracting or diverting buyers to a listing will be considered key word spamming and is not permitted.
We realize that many personal watercraft parts are interchangeable between models. For this reason, we do allow sellers to list up to 3 models in the title of their eBay Motors listings. In addition, we also allow up to 25 other models, terms, and/or phrases in the description. If your item is highly compatible to many crafts and needs more than 25 terms, we encourage our sellers to place a link to another further information page where all the makes and models can be listed, and all related craft are identified.
One of the primary purposes of eBay's keyword spamming guidelines is to make sure that our buyers have an efficient search engine to help find the specific items they want to purchase. We understand your desire to promote your items as effectively as possible, however, we feel that bidders will be more likely to continue shopping on eBay if they can find the items they are looking for in a quick and efficient manner.
We thank you in advance for your cooperation, and wish you luck with your future eBay transactions.

Regards,

Emma

"We realize that many personal watercraft parts are interchangeable between models."

Now that I know a Kawasaki 440 and a SJ 701 have interchangeable parts, I'll have to expand my other searches.

I checked the "hide email" box before submitting.
