Expect 100+ messages , most of them asking stupid ass question like is it still available , does it come with a trailer , will you trade for a clapped out 1995 Hyuandai with 400k miles etc . , regardless of what you put in the add such as cash only , no trades , etc. some douchebag will text you wanting to trade absolute junk for whatever you are trying to sell or offer you half of your asking price, be prepared.

Most stuff is overpriced / no title / not running
I agree which is why when I post something nice for sale with registration and completely gone through top to bottom it pisses me off when they try to lowball everything or offer ridiculous trades .

I know the lowball thing is just ridiculous! Most offers are insulting. You make a little wiggle room on the price, then the bastard says less that 50% off. BUH-BYE!
My wiggle room is usually $300.00 , as some found out when I tried to sell a ski late last year I am more than willing to pickle the ski , store it till next season and try again, I refuse to give anything away.

GASKETS FOR CHAMP BRAP!
I have a old used Yamaha electronic drum set that I listed on CL the other day for a killer low price of $50, and within an hour I had a guy email saying "I would like to buy the drum set, when can I come and get it?"
I told him he could come pretty much anytime as I am self employed, just let me know when you can come, I live on the north side of town I said. He says I''m on the north side of town, I can go right now". Then before I could even get another email back to him with my address, he sends another email saying "Just send me the address and I'll pick it up".
So I email back my address and cell number, I bring the whole drum kit disassembled outside for him thinking he is probably on his way over now since he had such a big boner to buy it. An hour later nothing, 2 hours later, nothing...He just completely ghosts me. Then next day I email and ask if he still wants the drum set... NOTHING ever again.

FLAKESLIST DELUXE! It really urks me when you give them your address and cell number then they F you...

Good chance it was automated, somebody just collecting addresses and phone numbers with automated messages. A lot of the annoying stuff that happens on there is not even people it's bots out there trying to scam one way or another.

Yeah, that's why I wait and try to feel them out before a bit. Ive had the bot thing before and its pretty predictive and general. This guy typed like a hick with crappy spelling/grammar and was more personal like than a bot... Yes, I know they like to collect phone numbers for sure! They probably have some advanced bots now I'm sure that can act like anybody..
i really dont want to start meeting up at a gas station or police parking lot to buy and sell things. You cant test something electric at a gas station.. lol Havasu is not a big crime town or anything, but times are changing, that's for sure!
I think I'm just gonna have to ask them for their phone number, and I call them and talk to a real person.. Old Skool! :)

Yep luckily I am selling Seadoos and I pretty much insist that we meet somewhere so they can water test it , this keeps them away from my house so they can't scope all of my stuff out , the last few that I have sold I did this way and I haven't had to bring one back home yet.

I am reluctant to give out my home address to Joe Blow off the street , either I meet somewhere or have them meet me at my shop at the lake .

Everyone knows markeplace is the worst yet somehow every week i have a more terrible interaction than the last. I wish i would have logged and printed off all of my interactions and made a book out of it. I’d have the best selling book of all time and people would think it’s fiction, ha!

what ever happened to the prince of zamunda ? Miss the simple scams

I am very interested in your item, unfortunately I have to flee my country from tyranny and only can do so on a jet ski.
I will send u a million dollars and u can take what you want for the jet ski and just send me a cashier's check in return .

I have been trying to buy a used truck off of Marketplace , I have found a few but these sellers are quirky , it's like yeah I have a truck, you can't really meet to look at it though, don't have time for that , the next thing you know it's been sold to someone else .

Last week it was a Toyota Sequoia , I messaged him and tried to set up a meet to look at it , he never messaged me back, then a couple of days later it's listed as sold, this week it's a Dodge Dakota , we set it up to meet this afternoon , I message him to see if we were still on , I finally get a message back that on a tractor, he will message me when he gets home, I guess he is still working because I haven't heard from him since.

Most everything on there is junk , when you do find something the people are flaky , it has tried my patience to the end.

This particular truck is nice and only has 71,000 on the clock so hopefully I can put something together with him on it but it's not happening today looks like.

I just gave , I ordered the parts to fix my Toyota head gasket PITA as it is but I did it once , I can do it again.

These guys want thousands of dollars for trucks that don't run, need transmissions , have been rolled over you name it , I have seen it , at least with my truck I know what issues I have to deal with.

I have two older Toyotas , an 86 extra long wheelbase with a 22R and extra capacity fuel tank , that was my dads truck , the plan is to do a complete resto on it and keep it forever , it has over 300,000 miles on it and needs a complete rebuild but for now it's just getting main and rod bearings installed .

I also have a 97 Tacoma that I have to put a head gasket on and flush out or replace the heater core , I am not sure what the prior owners did in regards to the cooling system but it has created a mess for me , it blew a head gasket a few years back and I had the head surfaced and reworked , this time it clogged up the outlet going to the coolant recovery tank and blew a top radiator hose .

I am hoping this go around that I can get by just replacing the gasket as the truck worked fine for a couple of weeks after the hose blew but then it started overheating when I was pulling a double trailer with a 4 Tec and a GTS on it in 100 degree heat . The last time it would overheat immediately , this time it is still somewhat drivable but I just parked it until I had time to fix it.
