contact cement on aluminum?

Does contact cement stick well on aluminum? im thinking about lining the toolbox on my truck with hydroturf.

Of the three flavors of DAP Weldwood Contact Cement; The Original, Gel, and Non-Flammable the only tech bulletin that mentions that it works well with metal is the Original.

ya why not? no, i usually i have a sheet of cardboard on the bottom and around the sides to keep my tools from rubbing on the aluminum and i thought turf would look sweet

Eliminates a lot of rattling of tools over bumps too.

i bought some really thin carpet from depot for that exact use....Used DAP as well and its held up perfect!
