i was checking out some of cold fusions stuff and i noticed this pole base. anyone used it? it has more rivet points so im thinking it may really help with cutting the stock pole. but would like to hear other opinions.

they really do have some nice stuff thou, if you haven't yet check them out!

The pole base not only has more rivets holes, but also has a longer section of the pole to slide into. I have not personally ran this piece, but have seen it first hand, and it is a work of art.

Rivets don't hold the pole to the bracket, adhesive/glue does. Once the factory adhesive lets go, it's all downhill. J-B Weld does wonders in there once you grind the stock bracket down to bare metal and the pole section down to bare smc/frp/fiberglass/whatever it is.

i think the glue/adhesive is over rated... i just run 1/4-20 bolts with locknuts instead of rivets with no glue. stands up to all my punishment so far learning br/bf's in the surf.

Dont forget to either: get their rubber dampener OR get a Kawi 550 one and cut it ( I did that and its perfect). How's your build going on?

well the buile is on pause right now, im in iraq so i can get my motor done yet. but i take leave in october, so as soon as i get home after i make dinner for two with my rn and make love to it (i really miss it lol) ima tear the motor out and i think ima go with a 701 or 771 from xscream. if i get the 701 i can afford the 46's and the boysen intake setup. but if i get the 771 ima have to run oem 44's and intake. budget will not let me do both. any opinions....? and orcourse what ever i go with its gonna be ported with b pipe and msd or E.P.I.C

im comming off of a 550sx so ill be more than happy with either one! but i ride flat water alot and the extra brappp would help, i could always the the 46's later on

i am deff gonna shorten my pole! thats a must. this is a 300 dollar part and for 6-7 hundred i could just get an new pole. thats not a big amount of money over the life span of your ski. but if this mount will work (maybe with a little carbon wrap overlaping the pole, rivets, and mount) it could last for years to come.
