I got a 750sx and it will not turn over. It makes a clicking noise. I thought it might be a connection or a ground but have checked them all. Could it be the starter?

remove the spark plugs.
will it spin over then?
maybe the engine is locked up, or there is something hung in the pump preventing it from spinning.
it could be the battery, the solenoid, the cables, or the starter, or even the bendix is locked up.

It could. It is most likely the starter relay. Get into the electrical box and jump the nodes of the relay with a screwdriver. If it turns over, it's the relay. If it doesn't, then we go from there. (ground, battery, starter, switch, etc.)

Unfortunately these guys are right. It can be any one of those things.
Since you hear a clicking noise I would think the switch is fine.
I have had a bendix do that........otherwise I would say starter relay.......Obviously I would make sure battery is charged and cables are tight first.

But shouldnt he hear the starter spinning if he has a bad bendix? I would bridge the starter relay with a screwdriver and see if it turns over then

voltage test on the battery.
verify good cables to the starter.
then go thru the steps, its a pretty simple system.

sar steven was having that same problem when i went to move his two weekends ago it was a bad concetion on the starter i belive

i lied it was a bad starter relay

well when my seadoo got flooded with water a couple days ago it did the same clicking thing till i pulled the plugs, it spun with them out and just shot out water. ive also heard the clicking with a low battery though

Not always....I had one go on freestyle geeks' boat and it just acted like a dead batt. All I heard was a click.
