CATS trim parts list???

Alright, I read through superjett's CATS thread and plan on ordering some parts tomorrow. I think I have a pretty solid list but I just want to make sure.

Raider:

Reduction nozzle
Trim Ring
Steering nozzle
Pivot bolts and bushing
At least 11.5 feet of cable

That's what I plan on ordering tomorrow.

Then I'm thinkin about either a BMX brake or MX clutch lever but I'll worry about that later.

To run the cable through the bulkhould I just drill a hole, put the cable in place and seal it with 5200 or should I be using a clamp similar to the one that holds the steerin cable in place on the handlepole?

Thanks,

(I read the whole thread but just wanted to make sure I know everything I will need before I start ordering stuff)

I'd run a small tube to the pump area. That way the cable will travel in enclosed area and it will be a clean install. Let us know how is it going, since I will be doing that upgrade soon as well :)

What are you ordering for the nozzle parts? I am stuck with some trim parts i bought as part of a C.A.T.S. system i'm looking to dump cheap. If you are not interested I'd at least like to see the parts list to help me properly identify and list the parts.

That reduction nozzle is off a raider too right? I see the threaded holes at 3 and 9 o'clock but everybody was talkin about weldin boss' onto the superjet nozzle.

Let me call this guy this morning and see what he has because he's local, but it looks like you have some of what I need so I'll let you know later if I need that stuff.

I thought about running a piece of .25" PVC back into the pump about a foot or so, then capping it at the end, drilling a hole through the cap and then sealing that with 5200. Dosen't 4200 get harder though?

Sounds good, I'm willing to deal too, I just want the parts gone. I also have some spare rubber boots for sealing the cable to the tube if you need them.

I used a piece of 1/2" thinwall stainless tubing I got from Wamiltons. Make sure that the trim cable will fit thru whatever you use first. I was going to use the stock siphon bilge tube as I'm not using it, but it was way too small. I needed a full 1/2" dia. ID to get my SE cable thru.

If you use a piece of 1/2" pvc thru the hull you can then buy a water tight cord gripper that will cinch down on the cable. This will hold it firmly in place as well as keep water out. It works perfect. I do not have anything covering the end of the tube in the pump area. And the tube is big enough to slide the complete cable in and out with no prob.I took some pictures of mine for you. Also a little trick to know is if you will flip your pump housing over you won't have to deal with the steering cable hitting the outlet. You may want to tap the other side of the pump as if too do dual cooling. This way you can still use the same line going in to the hull. Unless you already have dual cooling. You will have to re drill the alignment pins in the pump but this is fairly simple to do.

Where are you guys getting your cables from. That's the only thing thats kind of stumping me so far. Terrycable? Do they sell the cables with the female end that goes over the ball on the one end like the steering cable and the regular cylinder end like a throttle cable on the other?

I got mine from Lowes in th electrical dept. You will need a coupler/union to glue on to you PVC with threads in one end. then the cord gripper will screw into it.

Xscream has a new trim thats ready for release, and the cable and a couple other parts will help you with your setup.
Hit up Radney at Xscream, www.xmetalworks.com and he'll give you details. Its pretty trick, and allot less expensive.
We're planning to put everything on our site next week, and post more info in the new products section.

Already have everything. Just curious though, about how much will this set-up run? So far all the trim set-ups I've seen from aftermarket companies have been 500+. If someone could make one for around 300-350 I'm sure they could sell a bunch.

good deal, aside from pro-tec and terry cable, all the cables I've seen are over 100 too. FOR THE CABLE! Damn, that just seems really high too me. It's the small stuff that creeps up on you.

I'm sure it will be sick, you guys never sieze to impress

Hey Pat, It sure would be cool to have this trim on your first ski!!!!!!!!!!!

;)

Read - subtle hint!!!!!!!!!!

here's what I was thinking for getting the cable from the pump to the engine bay.... Please critique me....

There's about a foot of space between the bulkhead and the pump area. Should I just drill a hole on either side and work a piece of PVC through similar to installing a scupper. What's in there? I'm guessing foam?

Im planning on sealing the PVC to the inside of the hull with 5200. Then the same deal with the outside. Then a waterproof cord gripper at the end where the cable will come out.

???

Anyone use the stock bilge? That holes not really doing much anyway.
