Case porting ?

i already have my cylinders ported by team scream, dual 44 4 hole carbs, R&D intake manifold, boyesen fiberglass reeds with stock reed blocks, ada head with 33 cc domes at around 190-200 psi, TBM flywheel, light couplers, Factory B MOD, MSD enhancer, Jetworks flow valve.

would i notice a difference if i sent my engine back to team scream for case porting?

i know i know just call them- i will in a couple days when i get some time during the day. i was just wondering if anyone had any first hand experience in this situation.

thanks

what kind of money am i looking at to do that? just an estimate.

i know i could sell the whole 44 setup if i had to to offset the price.

the 44's guzzle gas as it is, i couldn't see the 46's being much worse.

i should still use the same intake manifold though?

I don't think I would do extreme case porting (epoxy needed) because I like aluminum way more than epoxy in my cases.

I had epoxy leaking fuel/oil in to my flywheel area once and when I switched to nice clean non ported cases I felt ABSOLUTELY no diff.....but maybe bigger motors need it.......but if X scream is not doing it to 849's (don't know but hopefully not) then I will never have it again. If XS is doing it then I guess I will have it again someday.

Good to know Mat,

They are using a different component that I am not used to seeing. It's white and feels more like a ceramic.

I've always used Liquid metal types in those situations which i have always believed to be non porous. Am i wrong? Does it seep thru the epoxy or does it leak where it doesn't bond to poorly prepped surfaces?

It helps to have it done by pro who knows what they're doing.
Then it won't leak.

It leaked where the epoxy did not bond....and it took 3 seasons. I am not saying it can't be done right. I don't think it will ever last as long as aluminum.....therefore I don't think it can be done right.

im going to have to call them up and see what they suggest as my next step. just figured i would ask for some opinions here before i dive in.

im very happy with their cylinder porting but like everyone else i always want a little more.

i can still dry out my b pipe a bunch too, but i leave it wet to be on the safe side. ski is only doing about 49-50 but hits great off the bottom. i think my top screw is open a bit and the bottom is probably at 3/4 to 1 turn-middle screw closed. lots of long WOT runs to get to the surf.

12/17 freeride swirl c75 with tbm pump hub (smallest cone). stock bore nozzle.

i was going to play with nozzle size next and see if that does anything for me.

Call Team Scream for the case porting, the epoxy fill is not only epoxy as mentioned above its a mixture of epoxy and something else i forgot.

As for the Kawaski Reed cages these are bigger than the 62T, you will need an aftermarket intake manifiold + spacer , I had a RIVA manifold but any other is possible...

The strange thing...my dual 46mm's use way less gas than the dual 44's and they seem to have tiny little bit more snap. The carbs are not running leaner I have had the 771cc set up now for over a year with no damage done in anyway.

On my ported 760 with duall 44's I am currently running 10/16 hooker and on the 771 11/17 hooker, season 2010 I want to test the 12/17 c75 so I would be interested on how u like it.

dont be mad that my stock port 61x cased 701 is faster then you lol. case porting is a waist of time on a small bore motor. anything to try and beat me huh. lol na na na nna.

lol he was talking to me...

he has had 3 different 61x motors in his square in the last two years and they are always 1-2 mph faster than me up top.

i think it has more to do with the mag pump he is running and a taller prop though.

Case porting rocks. You got a big bore that wants to breath, let it breath and let the flow be nice and smooth and well rounded.

I do my own case porting. It takes some time to do it all right, but well worth it in the end results IMHO.
