Case damage

What the Hell did this?? I did find a chip in one of the bearings and the piece that came from the bearing in the bottom of the case, Is this case reuseable??
You can see the chip in the crank bearing in the 5th picture.
I guess I need to send the crank in to be rebuilt. Who should I send it in too?

the dowl is missing and the ring is chattering

yes the dowl was loose and it FELL OUT.. so is this from the roller bearings going out?
I think its from the piece of chip that must of viberated around the center piece for quite some time.

The centering pins for the bearings still appear to be intact and it looks like the vibration from a failed bearing chewed up your cases.

If you're going to reuse the cases I'd install a new crank with some bearing Loctite in that area.

I have a spare 61x on the shelf. I guess I will steal that bottom end and use this one on a stock setup. Yes I plan on having the crank bearings replaced on this crank.
I guess its better to have caught it now then when it took out my cylinder and pistons.

If you have a spare set of 61x cases, why not use them together?

That is what I am going to do. I said Im going to have this crank rebuilt at a later date and set it a side.

If your talking about the cylinder?? I want to keep my cylinder I have been using.

lmao I am intrigued about this x-2 yami issue. I would like to do this conversion but I still am not all that convinced that the 701 is so superior, I also am not knocking yami and there 701. I do have some idea's, it's not a priority because I am doing a polaris x-2 conversion this winter with a buddy of mine he is building the motor and most if not all the mechanical. I will do all the hull mod's and paint. This is a x-crab boat! :hail:

damn sorry to hear about your luck there. i hate to hear about bottom end problems. it scares me

Thanks Xeon. I got another set of cases like new.. and even a crank but the previous ownder said it might be a SBT crank.... I dont want a SBT crank in my sj. I have read people on here have had good luck with sbt, but I just dont want to use it in my sj without knowing.
