just ordered bi-axle, epoxy resin, and a new hood seal. I'll probably start a thread on the repair and you guys can let me know how bad I mess it up.

thanks for the help guys.

I bought a rotozip cutting bit and cut out the cracks with my drill. ground out the inside edges, and sanded/roughted up the cracked area + the whole lip on that side. I placed a couple of 2"x4" 17 oz biax with epoxy resin slightly thickend then a 4x4 patch then a 4"xlength of whole left side lip. I let it dry for half a day and brought it inside and thickend up some epoxy resin to about the thickness of peanut buter and filled in the outside of the cracks. tomorrow I'll get out my cut off wheel and trim up the excess fiberglass sticking out past the lip.

I'd take pix but someone broke into the house and stole our camera last week. :scared:

yep, those TLR 48's are money. I still remember when todd started making them down here. everyone else soon followed.
:bs2:

Actually, I remember when Scott Randall (SRE) was making them for the Russians (and for Rick Roy) way back; and when he dissapeared , they asked todd to DUPLICATE them . Also, I was working at R&R jet tech when Todd brought the carb to Ron the machinist to duplicate!
