Carb rebuild dual mikuni sbn38

Right I went out and got the correct bit for the screws to access the p and main jet and have managed to strip all but 1 of the screws, why are they on their so freakin tight. Well I've put it away for tonight otherwise it would've been launched, don't know what to do next maybe try a flat blade in their but pretty certain it will just chew till there's nothing left.

Yea didn't know I had one lol ordered replacement screws no damage done to jet plate which is the main thing. I just checked existing h and low screw positions for my records before taking them out and they are low = 1 turn from closed, high = 1.5 turns from closed. Filters are all furred up too. Only three years old think it was due a rebuild!!!!

Hey guys I've just stripped and cleaned all the carbs out, removed choke assembly and waiting for my new jets, primer etc and it just dawned on me that I can't remember how the carbs link together doh!!!!. Here's a few pics and feel free to call me a pia lol.image.jpg

When I place the carbs back on carb base gasket I can't get the throttle plates to be in sync, I haven't adjusted anything and can't workout wether I'm missing something or I'm not putting it in a particular way. I'm not ready to reinstall it yet but it's doing my swede in. I've been looking online but can't find anything ATM. At the moment when I put them in position one of the throttle plates is in a full acceleration position. I'm new to this so please help, I'm only trying to learn from you pros :)

That screw is spring loaded on the right carb, stick a flat screwdriver in between the end of it and the other piece and you will see where the other carb lever fits in.

As long as you didn't mess with that screw (the spring loaded one on the right carb in the photo) it should be identical to when you took them off. A quick peek down the carbs once they are installed will confirm.

Hey guys, I've rebuilt the carbs and just need confirmation that the gaskets etc are all correct this is the pump side.

According to my manual, a gasket needed to be between the cover of the pump and the clear diaphragm, that's been done. Mikuni rebuild instructions state that there is no gasket between it and only for bn44, confusing anyway I've put the gasket between the pump cover and diaphragm as the service manual says so and it just makes sense. So it just leaves the slave carb, does it just have the o ring and nothing else?

There is a paper gasket between the fuel pump pulse cover and clear plastic piece. The manual is referring to the second paper gasket between the clear plastic and pump body which is only used on older 44s without the round oring on the pump.

Slave carb oring only. We use 2 stroke oil on all of the orings and gaskets to help prevent pinching and help with sealing. But some use grease and others assemble dry.

Right, pop off tested both pump and slave carbs and returned between 53 and 55 psi. I did it three times to be sure of an accurate reading. Both carbs have been rebuilt.
Specs are n/s=1.5, 115g spring, main jet 135, pilot jet 75 stock flame arrestor. I take it this is all good now to button up and get on with the rest of the install of a b pipe?

Yes, that is good.
