can you put 760cc sleeves into a 6m6 cylinder?

I believe I have a motor that someone did exactly that , but then made the ports line up, the cases are stamped 6m6 but the cylinder measures 84mm and it has 65u pistons

the cases are different. where are they stamped 6m6 on the bottom case ??
I would suggest looking at a bottom case.

bottom case is stamped above the starter and the top cylinder under the exhaust ports, wouldn't the cylinder bore be too far into the transfer ports being that big

6m6 sleeves have nearly the same o.d. as 61x. By my measurements 83mm is safer than a 61x at 84mm. Are you sure someone didn't just push their luck and bore the 6m6 sleeves to 84? Exhaust port width should be a good indicator. 6m6 casting doesn't allow for a very wide exhaust port. The water jacket is too close. Show us a few pics of them jugs and someone can tell you exactly what you have.

Bottom case is the same for a 6m6 650, 61x 701, 62t 701, and 64x 760.

yes I agree, thats why I was thinking he may have read the 6m6 and thought it was a 650

the case is stamped right above the starter and the cylinder is stamped below the exhaust ports both 6m6
