Can I put old 701 into donor gp1200 hull

Hi,
I found a fair price for a pretty clean gp1200, but I really just want the motor for my blaster1 conversion.
Has anyone put their old 701 into the big gp1200 hull? I think it could make a good ski for my wife and kids with my leftovers.

Thanks for any input. I'm not experienced on conversions but the 1200 b1 has enough info online I'm not too afraid of that swap.

I beleive the motor mount inserts are already there and you would just need a gp760 midshaft and the motor should bolt right up.

Thanks for the info. I was kinda surprised this wasn't a more common swap since there must be a lot of empty 1200 hulls and spare 701 engines with all the triple swaps out there! (But I guess it is kinda lame intentionally build a slow ski lol)

I have a gp701 that is awesome. 4 years now of family and friends WFO non stop. I think it's going to blow soon but oh well it's been a cheap beater ski that's reliable.

It will work fine. I have a Gp 760. Pretty close to same hull and the 760 pushes it around pretty well. Tops out around 48-49.

Yup, easy swap. A GP hull will take a 650,701,760,800,1100 and 1200 NPV motor...pretty versatile!

No. Yamaha set the hulls up from the factory to take all the motors. Just move the front mounts
