Super Jet can i move a sj gas tank closer to the nose?

i want to move my rn superjet gas tank closer to the nose, will it fit under the hood lip?
the water box will be removed. i know the fuel pickup will not make it but if i could get a few incehs stuffed towards the nose that would be sweet.

i dont have the tank now and i dont want to buy one if it wont fit.

I highly doubt it but have never tried. It's really close where it is. Even if the fuel pickup were shaved, the hull only tapers shallower as you go forward. I seem to remember the forward edge of the tank being in contact with the bottom of the lip if you put a piece of turf below it for padding/anti-chafe.

A Kawi 750 tank will fit under lip and go pretty far forward without waterbox, and gives you 5 gal capacity. I'm runnning one of these in my Kawi 900 powered FX-1 and it works great.

wouldnt you try to move engine forward for weight distibution, my sx has the engine moved forward but it still is handfull to ride in the waves

Im putting a gp 1200 in and dont want a funky 550 tank that runs for 15min...

Im going to do the 750 tank most likely!! Whats a fx-1 tank look like? Measurements? How many gallons?
