Jerry im not sure how you didnt destroy your back from that height. I under rotated a roll a few years back and now I have 2 badly hurniated discs...C5-C6 and C-6 C-7. My head hitting the water like that compressed my spine, it was no good.

I didn't think that was possible on water!? I have never heard of it happening.

You know, hitting the water like in that picture isn't too terribly bad. In fact, the impact from some of my flat landed blaster rolls are far worse. The blaster lands with such a thud sometimes it hurts my lower back and knees. Fortunately my mat areas are all padded now, and that helps tremendously on the impact.

I've finally got a fair amount of control over my rolls on the blaster, and can sort of tail them in similar to a standup. This is letting me go much bigger with them. I'd say I'm in the 17-ish ft. range with some of my rolls right now. Ever so often I land too flat, and pay for it with my back the next day.

I've been building my Blaster for the last year and I fully reinforced the sides, top to bottom, like a super jet. Jerry dodn't mention it, but the lower side edge of the ski could use some reinforcement. Where the side meets the bottom. Can be a weak spot when learning rolls.

On the lower half of the hull. Where the side makes the 90 deg edge to the bottom.

If looking in the hull, where the side of the hull becomes the bottom of the hull.
