CA ticket/fine amount question

Does anybody know what the fine is for riding to close to shore in the ocean?
I was out today and was drawn to the break so had to head in to shore and jump some of the waves.
After loading up I got to thinking about what the fine could have been? Anybody know?? I tried google but couldn't find anything.

I believe it will depend upon your state.

If I remember correctly, in SC it's a $450 fine. They can make it even worse by doing a safety check on your ski and giving multiple tickets.

We've been yelled at and threatened with fines before but never gotten one yet...knock on wood.

I have no idea but I'm sure its a lot more than you would want to pay, especially since you're so close to Oceanside.
