Props to the dude and the ride! yes it may get old watching kids and retired people on 3000cc monster motor ,40lbs carbon hulls BF across lakes in a few years but for now I think it kinda cool in moderation.

most people couldnt handle a ski with that power. You can buy power, but you cant buy skill. The ski isnt going to flip itself. i will admit it gets boring to watch but in the same respect, how many times can you watch someone slash a wave? Same thing imo.

if you practice with the power you learn with the power. most wouldnt be able to jump on and do it, but use that kind of equipment why not?
looks way too easy to be impressive is the problem, surf riding and destroying waves looks way cooler imo.:burnout:

I think that's the point that's getting me right there. I know I can't do it and I have a pretty good idea of what it would take to get me to that level, (time and effort I do not possess), and these guys make it look so easy.

I was on the pier in Myrtle Beach for Stoyer and Ratti's freestyle show earlier this summer and couldn't get over the comments from alot of the crowd around me. Many believed that they could just go buy a ski and be pulling that chit off within a few months of riding. I think it's funny, not as funny as putting one of those observers on a stock ski and watch them fall off every 10 ft mind you but still funny.

IMO, The biggest indicator that you have skill in something is that you make it look so easy that everybody thinks it actually is.

we're de-sensitized. We see it soooo much, but many of us still can't do "one". And if you're a flatwater rider, it costs to get one. If you're near surf, you have a better chance of doing "one" with alot less motor.
But I don't get tired of watching them, maybe dizzy, not tired.
It's ALL cool to me.
just my .02.

every wave and every turn is different...surfing dosnt seem to be too boring to watch for the people that enjoy it...and all they are doing is "slashing" waves..yea watching someone do the same ugly strait legged style-less turn before the wave even breaks is pretty lame, but watching someone go oververticle on a critical section and airdropping off the lip is pretty cool to me...too bad not to many people can do it

I'd say that thing comes damn close to flipping by itself. Drew Carey could flip that bitch I bet. Maybe not 8 times in a row though.

This is a "crow favorite" now... all others who know what it takes are not too impressed anymore...I can't do one with my ski, but hell I think we all could 1 with the right power :)

I would rather watch a guy ripping & slashing the waves than watch someone tricking em up. It's tough for people to understand how difficult some of the surf moves are, because most people think they are in the deepest part of the wave and really aren't. When you put yourself in the transition of the wave you start to realize how difficult just riding down the line can be if you are really in the wave, not in front of it on the flat... Turning and making something of the wave is even that much harder.

Ive been a surfer since I was very young. Surfing a wave is one of the best feelings in the world. doing it and seeing it on a jetski just doesnt have any flare imo. Yes i have seen some of the best surf riding on skis and it just doesnt impress me, im not making fun of people for doing it, im not saying its easy, and im not saying people shouldnt do it.; Im just saying it is painfully boring to watch imo. Just like its painfully boring for others to watch flatwater riding. Seems surf riders cant take any criticism but can sure make fun of the flatwater guys. People that know nothing about the sport will get wayyyy more excited about seeing a backflip then someone slashing or riding a wave on a ski.

I struggle with whether to respect the rider or the ski when I see this flat water end to end flippiness. Don't mean to dis the rider, but what are we really looking at in awe....the power or the skill??

That's how I feel

yupp im right there with you... so basically were watching how much money he has..... im super over flatwater. atleast in surf it dont matter what ski you have, you still have to have balls

good points.... people just look at it differently, no right or wrong

Everybody is overlooking the fact that your timing has to be perfect for each consecutive flip. Hit the gas too soon, flop, too late, smack......

x2

If it so easy why couldn't bun do that many in his final routine. Also how come none of the other pros linked more than 2-3 flips together consecutively in the finals.
