Does anyone know if there are any re-inforcement clam shells for the nose/bumper area of a roundnose out there that are being produced, something made of glass/carbon that fits clean under bumper/bondline? I had a soft kiss with the sea bottom at pismo last weekend...

I put a top/bottom clamshell carbon fiber piece made by Taylor Curtis on my 2001 Superjet - worked well... strong. Nose of my ski was pretty much destroyed, so I used this to reconstruct it... the damage went up pretty far, so I turfed quite a bit of the nose. pics 3 - 5.

I put a top only piece gelcoat/fiberglass made by Tomski here on the X on my latest RN superjet - went super easy, perfect fit, strong and looks good. pics 1 & 2 - looked good and left it unturfed.

Both worked great and I will likely install one on my new build 2010 hull, although... i don't seem to hit bottom much any more now that I am completely 90% of my rolls.

how much?

Upper is $160 in black or white. Custom colors are available at an additional price. Carbon and black upper is $185.

They are pre-fit, buffed and ready to install. You will spend more time and money fixing damage if you break or crack the nose.

Great advice. These were designed with Taylor's input. Stanton was at my place checking out some of my work last week...haha

i need one of these bad. lol

hahaha you aren't kidding. I think you might need the one that replaces the nose a bit further up though. This one looks more like a preventative measure or for slight damage. You tore the nose clean off already.
