And yes... you always have the Loyal honda/kawi/Jap manufacture people... but look back at the 70's when the japs first brought their bikes into the US!!!!! Where are those American made mx bikes now??? NO WHERE other than museums! I was a hardcore Honda/BBR american made person back in the day... dont get me wrong They are higher quality than the chinese. But not by much.

And 50addict, So he goes and buys a brand new pearly Honda xr50... I mean crf, what ever they are the same. He decides he needs bigger bars. So he gets bars and a triple clamp and a throttle and a brake lever and a kill button. He rides it and realizes the suspension sucks. So he goes and gets stiff spring. Then he gets those all on and the next ride the frame bends... so he gets one of them. Then he rides and the wheels blow out. So he buys new ones of those... lets say pro wheel. He gets a few rides and the forks bend. So he buys +1 fork tubes. Then he rides his buddies bike which has some SP5 forks... ouhh gotta have those... goes and gets him a set. Then the rear suspension sucks. Gets a shock. Then realizes he needs more power. Goes and gets an 88 w/ head kit. Now hes kickin'!!! Then with that added power it loops out too easy... Gets an extended swingarm. Then those pro wheels he bought blew out again becuase they're shnit. So he goes and buys excel with Buchannan spokes. he thinks "now its bullet proof!" Then he needs more power. So he gets a stroker crank and mainshaft mounted clutch. Now he is at 106cc's making about 8-9hp... Then he rides another bike with Zokes... OOWHHWHWHH those are nice! Gets those. Then to match the rear he need that nice long travel rear suspension. Ohh and dont mind that any of the better quality stuff has the frame modified or made for that rear end. So there is another new frame with the rear end. Then he realized the back drum brakes suck or the rear hub breaks.... so he goes and buys the hydraulic rear brake kit that comes with a new billet hub. Then the seat hurts his ars and so he gets a tall seat. Then he needs MORE motor, so he spends an easy grand on that. then his bike is about setup...

Or he could buy a chinese bike and be done with it. Replace a few cheap parts and its set for a long long time!

For the price you cant beat them!

If I knew then (meaning 2001-2) what I know know and there was what there is now around, I would have been on a chinese bike a LONG time ago!

And for a 110, cut that long paragraph down by about a third.

Doug won Las Vegas Mini Moto 10" Am, he has been pounding on 15+hp china motors/bikes for over a year... he know's whats up.

He also took 4 yr's Marine Mechanic's through high school. Got 1st place at National level highschool Marine Mechanics, free scholarship to MMI, and thousands of dollars in Snappon tools.

The man knows his chit. Believe that.:bananapowerslide:

But all the things Doug said that make a stock 50 so chitty, is all the things that make a stock klx 110 so great! Awsome fun right out the box.

You guys are really riding HARD and it's totally sick.
I use my bike as a pitbike and that's it. My wife & friends kid ride it.
So some my buddy's have all modded out crf's or a few china knockoff's and when they ride my bike. They all get off and say man stockers are fun. It all depends how hard your going to ride it.

Stocker's are fun! I realy like the 110's because they will take 100x more abuse then a stock 50.

I think BBR ruined the sport by offering the perimeter frame long travel stuff (even though I owned one). The $ you had to put into your bike to stay competive just got stupid. I dont regret racing, but it was very costly to stay up front. :banghead:

Not to mention 60 bucks after track fee, truck fuel, and drinks..... times that by 3-4days a week. :Eyecrazy: But that is what it takes to be on top of your game.

If anything China bikes made Pit bike racing easier for more people to get into.... How can you realy say they ruined your sport???? You still have the option to buy BBR, Reeg, Big Minis, or Five -hoe.

everthing on the market got polluted with china crap and resale went down while new went up. the fad died out with this invasion. i knew it was going to happen after xtreme started having competition, then they were EVERYWHERE.
i built my bike over years, by the end i changed out everything. it was totally worth it. just like my ski i added the parts that i liked and just kept riding. my bike has been so many places, so many long trail rides, skateparks, jumps. if it was a knockoff it wouldnt have lasted. nowhere near lasted. i would have to replace the parts i break with the same part with no option of upgrading without modifications, if possible at all.. ive seen it happen and its really not fun. the dealers are usually no help.
i could go on and on and on.

Your right... PEPBOYS wont help you out!
Any reputable distributor/dealer WILL!!!!!
And you all say that Jap. stuff is always the best.... Bronson, what happened to Troys' bike??????!!!!
you sound like every other strap on rider out there! lol!
any dealer will help, get you the same crap. by the 3rd time you break that part they arent going to be so helpful. either that or they go belly up, witch is very common in this type of market.
yes im saying honda makes the best base to build off of. it IS a small childs bike so stock is not going to hold up, but its not marketed to adults like knockoffs are. yet for some strange reason a kids bike with a 88lb weight limit holds up better than a bike with a 250lb limit!
:eek:mfg:
