i ended up keeping everything and just put brackets on both sides of the pole so i kept everything

I broke mine last weekend too. Luckily its just the rivets that gave way. Going to get some stainless steel bolts and JB weld til have some real cash. I'll ask around and see if any one up around me has the bottom metal piece from a part out or something. then you can just bolt it back together...

aw man, thats not bad at all. just put a metal plate from lowes or something that you can run 4 bolts through. Mine in my opinion is three times as strong as it was stock. and my plastic cover that you screw on that covers the handpole spring covers my metal plate perfectly.
