Nope he broke the metal piece at the bottom of the pole. It is fixable at least but it won't be pretty. Do you have 3/16" pop rivets and a rivet gun? You'll need fiberglass or metal plating. Regardless of what you do, it's going to be a temporary thing.

Ouch. Time for a new pole. Cha-ching my friend. This means you are progressing. Good for you.

Sorry I didn't get to talk on the lake yesterday. Maybe we can all hook up and ride one of these days.

That pole is fixable. To fix that you will have to have the lower aluminum metal part welded up and then cut down the pole and re-epoxy with through bolts and/or rivets. It will be easier to buy another stock pole or an aftermarket (Expensive)

i worked on it for a while today and ended up putting a big metal bracket across the front where it cracked down low. then i ran an inch wide flat bracket across the back and ran two 1/4 inch bolts through the pole to pull the brackets together. it felt strong when i was done but no telling how long its gonna hold.

yeah its crazy because 5 min before i did that this guy we ride with said that i needed to get a limiting rope. so your saying that i need to epoxy all around and on the brackets i put on the pole?

They are saying to wrap it in fiberglass. We can tell you what you need, where to get it, and how to do it.

Umm I've broken mine TWICE...I am so paranoid now that I am making my own pole...a goose to be exact ;)

Were both pole breaks with or without a limiting rope? I can promise you, if you continue to run without a limiting rope with a stronger pole, you WILL snap your spring, bracket, and crack your hull with the added potential of snapping your steering cable, throttle cable, and anything else running through the pole. Did it 2 years ago because I was being lazy and said "I'm not doing anything big yet".

I broke one like that. I had a friend TIG it; it broke a couple weeks later following the outside line of the TIG weld.
