Broken eardrum club

I broke my eardrum from smacking the water after a huge failed back flip in the surf yesterday. I kept riding but my balance and timing are off.

Doctor says it will take awhile to heal and until then I can't get it wet.

Wear your helmets...

we have seen a few people bust eardrums there...in fact, slutty blew his out the worst I have ever seen there!

ouch. did mine waterskiing years ago, was in the fetal position in bed for hours, couldn't even move it hurt so much.

hah did mine 3 weeks ago on a failed roll. it didnt hurt that bad until my mom put peroxide in it :banghead: just put an earplug in and a helmet and take it easy. thats what i've been doin :bigok:

i also smacked my ear on the water last week, doc said that i didnt tear it but that i have dual ear infections, it still feels like i have water in my ears after a week it sucks

get a helmet!!!! six six ones are nice, i have a lacrosse helmet i like it, bell(cheap)

No, I did not. I usually ride with a helmet, at least when I am pushing it hard. At the jet ski zone, they are required. Waves didn't look like they would be that big at the inlet and I got lazy and didn't wear mine on sunday...big mistake.

The waves were big and I was trying to finally land a back flip. I really was going big trying to keep up with lucas with his new motor ....and smack.

Why would you put a helmet in your ear? This sounds uncomfortable.

I never knew this was such a common jetskiing malady

I will admit to riding again already with an earplug and helmet on...I didn't ride hard or really get wet, but I can't stand not riding!

I got a clean bill of health on monday from the doctor, just in time for hurricane surf this weekend! Still feels funny though.

I sure can ride better without that earplug.

My helmet will be on this time!!
