I have a West Coast with ribs, an Ocean Pro with Fins, and an Ocean Pro without fins. You goign to make a composite one or something? They are new but have never been on a ski. Just taking up space in the garage.

Dave, you mind throwing some pics up? The non skegged OP one is interesting. Yes, I plan on making a carbon plate. My original composite plate got smashed on a shallow water landing and I have been riding without a ride plate for over a month now. I think its time to get one on.....lol. I'm just trying to save some prework, as all of the plates I have are pretty worked over and pitted up. I dont really feel like spending alot of time bondo'ing and sanding a rideplate plug but I will if I dont have one by midweek. I have a jetlyne that I kinda like riding with, and thats my backup plan to make into the plug. Those flat PJS ones would be nice too (easy to trim for a DCUT/shortened hull)

Shawn, I'll make you one if you can give me a few days, its the PJS plate replica I posted up earlier this year. I tested it out at the ocean and it seems great. I D cut mine as well.

I really want to make a mold, so I can crank out a few for all of my X2's. I'd like to pull that of an original metal one, so I know the shape is 100%. I have a ******** ton of glass left over from my boat overhaul I have to use for something....lol Thanks for the offer though!

Well, your welcome to use my mold then if you like. Have not been riding it much and I have a stock spare or 2 .

Yeah I can get you pics but it will be a few days, prob this weekend. I am back home in WV for a job interview and then first thing on Wed morning when I get back to Alabama, I am getting my wisdom teeth surgery done. I will be F'd up for a few days for sure so it will be this weekend at best.

The OP speed plate (no skegs) would be best. You can borrow it if you make me a plate :)

that isn't much work compaired to the overall amount of work needed to make a ride plate.

I know, but all of mine are shortened already and would have to be built back up. Thats what I dont feel like doing. I'd like to start with a brand new one. I just think the results will be better. I dont plan on selling them so they dont have to be cosmetically perfect....lol

thats cool, you should plan on making a top/bottom mold, lay it up on one and compress it with the other. ... you don't have too but that's how I'd do it.

Do it ,it may be good just for the experience, but you will find out its not nearly as much fun as you though it would be.:Banane09:

I just finished redoing my 20' boats floor. That was the biggest fiberglass layup/project I have ever attempted, and it was not very fun.....but I learned ALOT! I had only worked with west systems epoxy, prior to the boat work where I used polyester. Man that stuff in nasty. I have 15+ yards of glass left over and figured I get some more experience with small mold making.

Good luck with the wisdom teeth, I had all 4 taken out 2 years ago and I was fine the next day...no pain at all. Make sure they give you percocet and not wussy vicodin. You'll sleep right though your healing days.
