blowsion handpole bracket / breather

Can someone tell me the pros/cons of running a handpole breather vs retaining the stock boot? I dont need a breather but on the other hand I dont want to spend an extra 25 on a bushing if there is no point to it.
Is that breather hose all you need?

There is absolutley no need for the stock thingy that I can think of.

I just run everything up the breather hose.

I just used the hose that they gave me with the bracket. I didn't "need" the breather, it was just easier to run cables through and $25 cheaper. I noticed no difference in breathing or water ingestion. I'd just ren their breather tube.

the idea is some freestyle hoods dont let enough air in for the bigger engines so putting air down the pole helps and less chance of water ingress through the pole rather than another hole in the hood

Thanks, I won't bother with the bushing. The way they worded the ad just makes it sound like you might need somethien else (aftermarket breather system..)

Another thing do you all recomend a stiffer spring? I never felt the need for one but now having to do without a pole prop latch thing maybe it would be a good idea.
