Bilge Switch ??

I've used the basic 3 dollar toggle switch with the little rubber boot for a couple seasons. These will last forever in fresh water. Unfortunately, every time I ride in saltwater they're destroyed within two days. I actually got 3 days out of one this year, but that was because I mounted it right under the lip of the engine compartment. After that, it's back to the old "wire it up and let it run all day" method until I get back to freshwater again.

I just got the one JSS sells and it seems nice....only been on the ski for about two weeks though.....

The JSS is a modified version of the Honeywell / Microswitch unit. JSS just shortens the bat to make it less vunerable to damage. I just bought the regular unit and have been running it for 5 or 6 years. It is sealed at the bat and the back is molded with no seams. This is a military spec switch and with a $3 boot from home depot or Lowes it will last many years. I think the part number is Microswitch MS 1TL11-2. Use this link to the Honeywell interactive catalog page. http://catalog.sensing.honeywell.co...138762,138765&P=4371,4403,4395,4402&CURRITM=4

I use a waterproof fuse holder made by ANCOR.
http://www.ancorproducts.com/Products/Home.html
Look under "Fuses & Accessories"
than scroll down to "Waterproof In-Line 12AWG Wire". It's the black plug with 2 orange wires coming out.

I do have to lift the hood and stick in the fuse but I leave the pump running all the time while I'm riding. When I get back to the beach than it's time to refuel so pulling off the hood and taking out the fuse isn't a big deal.

The fuse holder is working out great for me.

The CPI switches blow donkey d$*K... these are the rubber coated ones you can get from blowsion and also have the mount to attach to the stock S/S switch.

I'm using the Blowsion rotary and all is well. Only thing is I'd also recommend the cover plate they sell also cause you can break the knob off easy if kicked accidently, etc.

Or you can go the cheap way and just use terminals that you manually connect under the hood, not a bad alt. considering you only turn them off when not riding.

The inexpensive CPI switch is just not suitable for water use. Hot Products used to carry the mi spec type but now only have the pos type. Riva used to sell the mil spec type with 108" of lead. I have 3 in use that are about 15 years old, I recycle them when I get a fifferent ski, see first pic.
I now prefer to use mcmaster.com part#6944k12 for $66.40 , http://www.mcmaster.com/#6944k12/=65e8j8 it has 2 leads 18" long which I splice onto longer leads with watertight connectors. CPI can manufacture switches for you with longer leads but have a minimum order.
