I'm pretty sure the biggest pistons you can get from Pro-x are 83mm.
Not sure how big Wiseco goes but anything above 83mm is going to make the sleeves real thin.

I have been wondering the same thing about the largest SXR piston available.
I am also interested in larger bores on my bigbore SJ motors.I am at 86mm and there is plenty of sleeve left but the only pistons I have seen bigger than 86 , were 86.5 flat tops. There is enough sleeve for at least an 87 if not 88mm.

measure up the sleave wall thinkness and work out form there wot would be safe ill check with my engine builder tommorw for you wax wot the min thickness for your sleave is , i would guess about 2mm would be pretty safe still

I am thinking of doing the same... I allready have to resleeve one side... should I just do the other too and go big???? Do you have to do any mods to the head to run pistons that big? Are there any other complications that could arise?

On car engines we used to use .100" as a general rule of thumb for min thickness, at our shop. You have to consider heat at this point, more than strength.

here is what i have listed int eh hot prods catalog;

wiseco

750 sm pin mtr up to 85.5mm
750 big pin mtr up to 84.5mm
800 up to 82.96mm

PRO-X

750 sm pin mtr 82mm
750 big pin mtr up to 81.5mm
800 up to 83mm

are the big pin 750, and the 800 pistons interchangable? as i see it, they have different part numbers for the same diam bore. wiseco 750 82mm is a 809m series, and the 800 82mm is a 837m series.

is the pistons skirt different for port timming? or is the dome have a different crown? i have not yet been into a SXR motor to compare.

I think that 84.5mm is pushing the limits of the sleeve.. I think I have some sleeves available that will accept up to 89mm diameter(special order only). I also stock pre-ported sleeves & OEM replacements.

Pete at RIVA said they have flattop 87.0 sj pistons in stock.

hi wax i just gave my engine builder a quick call and for him personally he wouldnt go any thinner than 1.5mm wall thickness. he also made the point that you have to be a wee bit carfull with the 750 and 800 factory sleaves as they are cast into the cylinder and can be a wee bit inconsistant in there wall thickness . ive been doing a wee bit off resurch on big bore kawi pistons and sleaves for my 750 latly (im aiming for 900cc) and ive found the wiesco catalog quite helptfull catahttp://www.wiseco.com/Catalogs/PersonalWatercraft.aspx
la sleave is another one that might help as well when looking for sleaves if you go that route hopfully that is a wee bit off help
