SJ, I used a UMI turnplate but got rid of the whole bearing set up (It's nothing but a rust trap). It was replaced with a Poly-composite washer that I machined on a cnc router at work. Just like the stock set up.
It works like a charm and I don't have to clean off all the rust/grease.:woot:

UMI with an x-metal -1 bracket is the only way to go.:cool2:

Throw on a x-metal 0 degree bar, and it pretty much makes your steering a -3.:arms:

you have to use the straight bars unless you want to drill out the holes to run UMI Bars.................

arent the bars are extra...

im running a blowsion -1.5 on my SJ with a -2 pole.., and gonig to put a xmetal -2.5 on my fx with a pole I cut down 1 inich.....

sj: -3.5

fx: -5.5 total......nice!

dont forget about the blingin' new throttle pull youre gonnna want with those new bars and plate ;)

i think the most bulletproof setup especially for salt is an Xmetal system with JSS guts on the UMI steering...those needle bearings that come with the UMI suck...JSS has a thrust washer setup to fix that..and its plastic...

Does anyone here know where to get just the straight bars? I think they are like $65 from Pat - which is more than I'm ready to cough up for a 2 foot piece of aluminum tube. The knurled ends might be nice for some grips but they are no help with ODI lock-ons.

Dude.. ATP hands down... U can use str8 bars or angled bars and no bearing to grease and mess with..... I would strongly recommend some girlfriend ass kissing and include the ATP nozzle with it... ull be more than happy.

Thats what i have and i couldnt ask for anything better!
