My wife doesn't know it yet, but she's buying me a new steering system for my birthday :27:

So, what's the best value? Tried to search PWCGoneWrong.com, but the search function doesn't seem to be working. Seems like it would be good to have this thread over here anyway.

So UMI? It's a bit spendy, but is it really that good? How about the Blowsion system? Options for using the stock setup? (Who was making the bushings a while back?). What say you, good people?

I've got a UMI now but I think I am going to get a -1" or -2" from someone, probably X-METAL. My friend had a R & D -1" plus it takes totally straight bars. I think that would shorten up a little also. If I can find that one I may go with it but that means new bars also:rolleyes:

The ATP one is pretty cheap, bout £110 but i think you guys get it for less due to tax etc.

That one is able to hold both bent and dead straight bars, and is nylon bushed so you dont get the troubles that come with rusted bearings, or that the theory.

No, you need to trash the complete stock setup. I don't know if X-metal sells the whole system, but it is based on the UMI system.

I only know of the UMI system, the R&D system, and the XFT system (I'm not sure what the ATP system is). Most people's shortened plates bolt onto the UMI system.

UMI does not make a -1 plate, I went to order a complete kit, and all they have is standard. Had to get the plate through blowsion.

But Id get xmeatl for yours, I only got UMI becuase its for my square, and well, my parents surprised me with it for my bday, so I took it lol
