After exhaust look at some big carbs. 48mm. Porting is a big help as well but I have found that the best bang for you buck is 1) exhaust and 2) a healthy set of carbs. If you ride surf a single carb is just fine
Get some footholds next if you're into freestyle or freeride. Chop the handlepole, and for $100 plus resin/glass/turf, you'll have something that is much more beneficial than a head or reeds....
I'm not into gobs of power like many people are.
I like a nice handling/reliable boat. A major characteric of how your boat handles is where you can put your weight. With footholds you expand your tray and riding capability.
Not that an aftermarket head will make it unreliable, but you get my drift.
just do it all, can never have enough power. The more power the more it feels like an extension of yourself when riding. To answer your question maybe mill your head and get the reeds to, jetworks valve too. I've got an ADA, I like it, easy to change domes, domes seems to be cheaper than others, I got five sets of domes just trying to dial compression in and then raising it.:banghead:
i never knew about jetworks until this morning. i did a search and realized that it is something i really need too. my last upgrade was the ww cone but it gave me mostly mid power and lost some topspeed. so im still looking for idle to mid power and this valve may do the trick for now. :Banane01:
and the head of course.
thanks again for all the info.
any small upgrade advice for bottom trust is welcome.
What it really boils down to is money, and how much do you want to spend. We just built a 02 with b-pipe, head, prop and flow valve, with some dialing in the ski ripps for what it is. All 701's have metal reeds from the factory, no pat on the shoulder but I have been wrenching for the past 10 years for a living. I'm sure all 760's have glass reeds. If you are not going big bore stock carbs are great-with the stock air box modified. The flow valve helps with off idle power-keeping the water box dry at low rpm.
