Best Mods for a 1994 Kawasaki 550sx

Hi,
I'm sort of new to the whole jet ski thing. I bought a 94' Kawasaki 550sx and I love it. It's in really good shape and runs great. I was wondering if anyone might be able to help me out and tell me some good aftermarket parts that would help. I'd like it to go a little faster but not have to spend a fortune. I dont know if there are any small performance enhancers out there I could pick up rather cheap. Also are there any places I can get a ride plate and that sort of stuff. I see lots on ebay that have those upgrades but I dont know where to buy one. Lastly, I rode it the other day and flipped and cracked my jaw. Would it possibly be a good idea to wear a helmet. If so, what kind of helmet should I get. Possibly a bmx helmet. I race motocross but dirtbikes helmets seem like they would get water logged and way a ton. Any help would be greatly appreciated. i still have a 1993 550 try a 15 prop and the factory half pipe and aftermaket head they are all cheap and easy to get on here or ebay, just post in the want to buy section, with those 3 mods it will really wake up that 550,

I live at Lake of the Ozarks Missouri. I usually get out about once a week lately. Hoping to go tomorrow.
As for the mods you told me to get, I really dont understand what a factory half pipe is and all that other stuff like a 15 prop? I dont know what the 15 stands for and the aftermarket head. Is there a brand I need to look for. Also, By adding these mods will it make it prone to blowing up. Id rather not have to rebuild it for a while. Someone told me to take the stock head to a machine shop and have it milled
30 thousandths of an inch. Is that a good idea? Once Again I really appreciate you guys dealing with my newbie ignorance.

the factory half pipe in an expansion chamber that bolts right on to exhaust the 15 prop is the pitch of the prop, the first to mods on my 550 which is the same ski as 1994 i installed a new prop and the factory half pipe expansion chamber , it made a big difference and not hurt reliablity, do a search you will find lots of good info

Hey do you know anyone who has a aftermarket nozzle for a 94 550sx or a high compression head??
