you did get a warranty replacement battery thought right?

Im not really seeing how you can bitch about the warranty when you got a new replacement from somewhere OTHER than where you bought it.

in ANY other situation most folks would call that A kickass warranty!

I remember even offering to buy that warranty battery from you, but you wanted to KEEP it as a spare.

it must really suck.

IM honestly still trying to figure out how you killed it.
so far, mine have jump started my car, powered portable camping gear, served many hours in the ham radio room, magnatized a few screwdrivers...

Not to mention spending time in skis, and... hehe, e of them even rode around in the back seat of my truck for a few months... upside down, with my constant lunch mates kicking them around.

You must ride REALLY really hard.

hehe

I did, no thanks to Odyssey. It was a site sponsor that graciously replaced it.
That has nothing to do with Odyssey itself though.

The factory is an absolute pain in the ass to deal with.
And I'll have you know  that my failures had nothing to do with total loss and / or constant charging (this is spelled out in the manual as acceptable operation, btw). My failures were not creeping or slowly worsening performance.

They quit working from one second to the next. Which in one case caused me to have to swim my ski in to shore.

I bitch about it because Vendor A was hesitant to replace the first time, finally replaced it with an old battery, and flat out lied the second time around.
Vendor B never responded to me.
Odyssey told they will not warranty it and that the words on the warranty certificate are not true.

By pure luck - and me bitching about it - I got a site sponsor to help me out.
If that's what I have to go through for a warranty replacement, I will bitch about it every single time.
Do you find this ordeal an acceptable kickass warranty?
I don't.

I had just gotten that battery from a site sponsor that graciously picked up the Odyssey slack for me, in a visible way on the forum.
I didn't feel it would have been right to flat out sell the thing.
Other than that, I would have loved to simply get rid of it and get another Jetworks.
In fact, if you still want it, 45 + ship and it's yours.

IM honestly still trying to figure out how you killed it.

Severe mechanical shock and vibration tore the internals apart.

I know you don't agree - but my experience has been 66% failure rate, and 75% ********ty customer service.

That's enough for me to warn others.

I gotcha man,

just harrassing you.

I still cant imagine what you must have physically done to the battery to kill it.

I think Ill drag my oldest one behind my truck on the way the lake this weekend and see if it dies.

Hurrr....you know, I still got that last broken one sitting on my shelf. If I get extra time this weekend  I will tear it apart.

What could possibly go wrong? :haha:

Yeah, a year or two ago, if you asked about batteries, everyone recommended the Odyssey, now that I have 6 of them in my boats, everyone says that they are junk!

hahahaha

I think its all an evil ploy to encourage people to buy junk!

If mine die, or crap out, or give any problems, Ill report back.

( and turn it in locally for a warranty replacement)

Bah...it's been an ongoing friendly dispute between me and that flakey guy. :haha:
