They also told me a 587 Seadoo engine that I purchased was fine and to run it,it sounded like someone was inside the engine with a hammer trying to get out.It was obvious to me that the piston to wall clearance was excessive,they refused to send another engine.So I sent it out,they came out really well on the deal it made it out of warranty by a week,I didn't fare so well since it was one of my best customers I ended up eating a top end repair on the deal.Call them back up and keep working your way up the ladder ,if you don't get anywhere ask to speak to CJ.CJ is the person they hired to fix all of SBT's customer relations nightmares,he is a good guy.

I was leary about running an SBT, but mine came and was beautiful. It has been perfect for 2 years and still looks and feels good. ( I am not nice to my equipment either.)

so i called sbt up and i told them my story and they didnt believe me that it was a prize it at the cleveland rock n ride they were asking me all this crazy ?'s about it....so after being on hold for 20 min i finally talk to jeremy and he was cool about it and said to send it and and we will sent a new one out to you
