thats a good trick to know.. i'm gonna try that out next time it happens to one of us.. i dont see how this trick would work, but i'll take your word for it and give it a go..

i would think a wet plug is a wet plug is a wet plug... isnt it???? or because the electrode retains more heat than a 8 or 9, it keeps the temp in the combustion chamber a little higher, helping to ignite the mixture a little easier? what is the theory there?

don't listen to that fool...

tellin' ya man...this is THE trick that will make you :highhorse: on the beach.....about a month ago my hood popped loose, and we dragged the red boat in bouncing off the bottom...took about 45 mins for the tow  (the whole time I kept thinking about skywalker)..

took her to the beach, put in a set of #7's.....butti continuously pumped the primer and it fired off first time  a second plug change with some ether (still pumping the primer) fired it off and she ran....

2 plug changes, and back on the water in 5 minutes...

normally, without using either one of those tricks you are looking at minimum a dozen plug changes.....hell, ive seen it take 30-40 changes..

you are doing something wron if it takes more that 3-4 plug changes.

this is what you do:
  1. drag ski to beach
  2. pull plugs
  3. flip ski over (it will start to drain)
  4. pull throttle (lets water go out carb)
  5. let sit for 15 min upsidedown
  6. while it's sitting hold red stop button and bump motor over slightly about 5-10 times (till water stop comming out)
  7. flip back over block plug holes w/ finger tips, hold red button and bump again.
  8. install cleaned/dried plugs hand tight
  9. put caps on plugs
  10. prime fuel system
  11. try to start it up, repeat 7,8,9,10 as needed
it shouldn't take more than a few cycles to get the water out. Then go ride ski for 30 min

ok then smarty would anyone want to let their boat sit for 15 minutes upside down, when a method was just posted up can get you back on the water in 5
this method works...and is repeatable. you dont want to listen, well whats new....... I take your advice all the time, you know that.......however, this method works BETTER than yours. :nana:

so I guess this will be for just for anyone that's not too stubborn to listen to anyone besides their own fat head.

thats just funny.

if funny = annoying then yep, I blew my gut out laughing

or, if funny = explanation of why 7s vs. 8's then even FUNNIER.....

but the FUNNIEST part is one of your friends calling you out as a fool for a technique that works, and works even better than the afore mentioned method......

like I said before.....this method works like a dream, so long as a blown up ego doesnt get in your way of understanding the ORIGINAL point. On occasion I understand why B over at the 'other site' gets so worked up about personal attax......

and why do people do this?

well, just ask the monkey...........BECAUSE HE CAN!

ok fathead next time out, we'll both sink....and see who gets back on the water first......

for 100 bucks

oh, this trick will also work the large majority of the time while floating (ie no need to get towed in), if a move goes wrong and the plugs get wet (assuming not enough water in the motor to worry bout hydrolock..)

Speak up ,don't kiss azz
I don't care what plugs you got in there if you got water in your motor it will not fire up .All I use is 7's and you have to get the water out like slut said before it will fire up .5 seconds my azz:cool2:

maybe what slutty didnt understand is that what EYE was talking about would be inserted after step 6..:dunno:

of course you have to get the water out first, i mean...were not trying to figure out the best way to bend a crank rod.., right?

and HT, where do you get .5 seconds? I said 5 mins.....

now on the flip side, I have told MANY people about this step:

while it's sitting hold red stop button and bump motor over slightly about 5-10 times (till water stop comming out)

as alot of peeps dont know that's a good way to smoke a CDI (not to mention cause a fire..)

sorry nick, man....next time Ill speak in a more clear and concise manner.....I realize the inside of that head of yours is hazier than an LA freeway at rush hour...:lightning:

:sneaky: :banghead:

I used to put plugs from adet16v's celica in my 650sx to get it to run when it would give me ********, turns out those are 5's. I used to leave them in because it ran so well....... errr, well it ran. Turned out it had a bunch of blown gaskets that were leaking water.
