Automatic bilge pump switch - yes or no?

and for the forum mods: I guess I opened this topic in the wrong area, I think "General" should be more appropriate... :) thankssss

ive always said no to auto float bilges, they will kick off and on and burn the motor out. a simple switch and you set.

FALSE, handlebar switches fail ALL the time. I've NEVER heard of a Rulemate failing.

No they won't. Plus switches fail too. I'd rather only have one piece of equipment to reply on and maintain versus two.

TRUE

... he didn't film how it acts in the surf with all the up and downs and jumps and so on... if the switch inside the rule-matic "box" is like this: it will go up and down because of the ski's movements and not because of water in the bilge... so it will start and stop the bilge continuously and burn the motor...

FALSE: does not turn on and off that fast.

they come with 3rd wire to manually switch on/off

Yes, but why? I'll never ever ever ever use a switch again. (Actually, I haven't since 1998, same bilge still works, that is 16 years)
